UPDATE

Pain therapy for 12-year-old Hassan – 500 euros are needed

12-year-old Haji Hassan has cancer. We have only known this for a few weeks.

He will not survive, because treatment would only be possible in South Africa or Europe.... If we can collect donations of 500 euros, we can at least give Hassan a pain-free time...
Please go to the donation form —whether it's 5 or 10 or more euros—please help this little boy.

The diagnosis "cancer" – operable only in South Africa or Europe/USA – please at least help him to relieve the pain...

The background

- A brave boy from a nomadic tribe is brought to the village because he is suffering from severe stomach pains. - Markus Dietz from the aid project drives him to the hospital and accompanies him during the examinations.

A doctor in Germany examined the CT/X-ray images: "The guy has an unclear tumor that is pressing on the ureters and causing urine retention in the kidney. Only a sample can show what type of tumor it is; the ureters may need to be splinted—I can't say any more, even with the images."

"Volumetric imaging of the entire abdomen is performed before and after intravenous administration of non-ionic contrast medium, followed by multiplanar reformation.
A large heterogeneously enhanced lobulated mass with mixed density is seen in the abdomen, extending in the pelvis along the pelvic side wall (L>R) and compressing the ureters, more on the right with resulting hydronephrosis. Areas of internal cystic changes are seen within the portion on the left side in the hypochondrium. The mass measures 177 x 226 x 142 mm. A compression effect on the urinary bladder is visible. The intestine is displaced upward and laterally. A discrete soft tissue density mass is visible in the right groin area (13 x 20 mm).
The liver is enlarged. Hepatic hypodense lesions are visible (42 x 20 mm and 17 x 13 mm). The spleen is slightly enlarged and has normal parenchyma.
Moderate free fluid is visible in the abdominal cavity.
Impression
The NC & CECT evaluation of the abdomen and pelvis shows:
 A large, heterogeneously enhanced lobulated mass of mixed density in the abdomen, extending into the pelvis along the pelvic side wall (L>R) and compressing the ureters, more so on the right, resulting in hydronephrosis with areas of internal cystic changes within the portion on the left side in the hypochondrium.
