Galana River School Project

– We are building a school in Kenya.

A project to improve the small world of the village community in Mwanza, Kenya...

Since 2014, we have been building a school in Mwanza on the Galana River. We collect donations and spend most of the year in Kenya overseeing the construction of the school. In addition to building the school, we also provide training for people who will later perform valuable services in the village community: doctors, mechanics, craftsmen.

And through sponsorships, we specifically support children and young adults who have the potential to help the village community in Mwanza move forward. However, medical care is particularly important. A doctor and nurse would be a blessing for the entire region. But we can only achieve this with your help and support. Through financial donations or active help directly on site!

school construction

We have already built a state-approved school in Kenya. However, the number of classrooms and teacher accommodations is far from sufficient to teach the 240 students. A planned expansion still requires funding to be realized.

Education

We specifically support children and adults who have the potential to advance the village community in Kenya in the future.
Educational sponsorships provide the financial basis, because from elementary school onwards, families have to pay the school fees or money for studies themselves.

Health

The nearest doctor is a four-hour drive away from the village community. Our off-road vehicle is the only means of transport available. There is no medical care available, except for us, as the local man is a paramedic. But even he is often unable to help. We want to build a medical station so that the chances of survival for the people in the Mwanza village community are significantly increased!

New organizational structure for the project—generate even more impact!

We have founded an independent NGO in Kenya! MICODEP is responsible for the operational implementation of projects on site, which was previously carried out by a single person.

Our association is the supporting organization of the NGO MICODEP and provides funding. The NGO implements the projects – simply, transparently, and comprehensibly!

You can find further, detailed information in the blog article (still in progress as of December 28, 2025).

Markus Dietz and Birgit Dietz have been involved in social projects in Kenya for several years. Building a school near the Galana River and teaching people how to grow their own food is a cause close to their hearts. Read more in the articles and help!
