Michele Roccotelli

Roccotelli was born in 1946 in the southernmost part of Italy, in the town of Minervino Murge, not far from Bari. After completing his studies, he initially worked in Rome, but then returned to his homeland. Between 1974 and 1995, he worked as a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari.

His paintings, graphics, and ceramics are represented in both public and private galleries and collections worldwide.

Well-known critics have presented and discussed his works in catalogs. It is a development of abstraction in naturalistic and impressionistic painting and purity of color.

Vibrant colors dominate the paintings. Roccotelli incorporates the natural processes that take place in the landscape (growing, blooming, decaying...) into his painting. This results in a symbiosis of the seen, the experienced, the intuited, the tangible, and the felt.

Roccotelli has participated in international art fairs through renowned galleries.

His works also attracted keen interest in Miami Beach, Hamburg, Brussels, Ottawa, Dresden, Vienna, Cottbus, and Munich, among other places.
